Blocks made of patchwork
A quilt block is a great way to use up fabric scraps and add a bit of personality to your quilt, as well as to use up fabric scraps. You can create a variety of unique patterns using patchwork blocks by combining fabrics in a variety of ways and by combining different types of fabrics.
Your own blocks can be created by you
To create your patchwork project, the first thing you need to do is design the block or blocks that will be used in your project. For sketching out your designs, we recommend using graph paper as a drawing medium.
If you arrange them on paper first, you will be able to locate the pieces of fabric with which you are going to work in different places, visualize the blocks, and combine them in different ways. You do not have to be a perfectionist when you sketch, the idea is that it serves as a quick representation that can serve as a reference in the future.
Furthermore, by saving your sketches, you will be able to have access to them at any time when you need inspiration, in addition to having an archive of them.

Combine patchwork with quilting to create a unique look
We will share 3 ideas of combinations that you can use as a guide to make your own combinations between the fabrics, remembering to choose cotton fabrics to have the best results when combining the fabrics.
We recommend that you use at least two and three different types of fabric when you make patchwork projects. There are some combinations shown in the image that might serve as inspiration for you:
– A plain fabric in a similar color or a tone that contrasts with the plain fabric.
In the second category, we have organic printed fabrics that are printed with plants, flowers, animals, people, or objects such as baby clothes.
The third type of fabric is those with linear prints, thousand stripes, zigzag lines, or geometric shapes such as squares, polka dots, hexagons, or other geometric shapes.
As a dreamer, we would like to encourage you to experiment and test so that you can achieve unique projects that reflect your style and your technique. We want you to experiment with your fabrics and the shapes of your patchwork blocks so that you can achieve designs that stand out.
