  1.  Skip the Batting:

If you observe that felt is thick then you don’t need to do batting of the materials like carpet, mugs, glass, etc. Batting is useful when the project and material are light and holds medium normal weight. So on that batting is useful for you. You can cutaway stabilizer instead of batting on materials like polyester-cotton etc. And if you add felt then in the previous project. The extension of a stabilizer may or may not be required. You have to use your keen observation of this.

  • Choose and use the right stabilizers:

This is the main and basic tip when you’re doing machine embroidery. If you’re working on the hoop, the best option is water-soluble mesh stabilizer. It is useful for the counting of stitch, stitch count s common in hoop projects and designs. ‘Plastic ‘ type of water-soluble can be used in it. If you use double layers of it, it will be helpful for you on lightweight and for the heavyweight; only one layer can be applied.

In case the felt you’re using become denser and the stitches sink in a lot. Then you need to use a water-soluble topping stabilizer.

  • Select the correct design:

When you’re utilizing felt for the stitches of machine embroidery appliqué work. Choose the right design with layered stitches or lighter weight stitches of appliqué. These stitches work very efficiently and continue the thick felt securely. Also, keep in mind that felt doesn’t ravel.   •  Mix and match of fabric:
